As a woman over 40, a business owner, and mother, I have often found myself struggling to balance feeling good with my changing body, aging and just life in general. I also absolutely love the magic of photography, where we use light, composition and body language to tell stories and evoke feelings.

You may have heard of boudoir photoshoots, which often feature lingerie or less. We've designed our Dream Photoshoots to be a little more flexible to celebrate what beauty means to YOU. This can include intimate images if you would like, but also anything that makes you feel good such as pretty dresses, your favorite hobbies, your favorite outfits, creative styling, etc. I have a small collection of outfits you can borrow and play with and you can also bring your own. The sky's the limit!

how much does it cost?
We divide our packages into two parts - a Session Fee and your Image Package - so that you can customize your shoot to be perfect for your needs.
The session fee is $500 and includes professional hair and makeup, a wardrobe and style consultation, and a two-hour fully-guided photoshoot
Images are purchased separately and start at $250 each or print and digital packages start at $1,500

Below are some of the most frequent questions I receive during the consultation call
I know you have a ton of options for how to invest your time, attention and money, and I sincerely appreciate you considering investing them with me. A 40 Over 40 session with Ann & Kam Photography is considered a "full-service" session, where we work with you hand-in-hand from planning the session all the way to creating art for your walls.
This might be a good fit for you if you are tired of quick sessions where the photographer doesn't give you any guidance, or if you are looking for something that will truly be an experience that you will carry with you into the rest of your life. Many clients say that their session and their images changed how they saw themselves, gave them more confidence, and was so much fun that they want to do it over and over again.
The session fee is $600. This fee holds your date and allows us to book a hair and makeup artist for your shoot. It includes your planning consultation, professional hair and makeup, a 2-hour fully-guided photoshoot, hand-retouching of all of your images and one print and corresponding digital image.
After your session, you will have the option to purchase only the images you love. Individual images start at $300 per image, and we have digital and print packages for 6 or more images starting at $1,500. Portrait clients spend on average $2,000-4,500 for their session and the photo products they desire. We offer world-class products including matted print collections, albums, and unique wall art options that you will cherish for years to come.
We accept all major credit and debit cards and cash. Payment plans available upon request.
The real question is what will you do with the confidence you will gain from your session?
But I get it, most of us are not taught that it is not "humble" to hang photos of ourselves on our walls. I would like to argue that the best thing we can do for ourselves and the people we care for is to love, care for, and celebrate ourselves, and photographs are an amazing way to do that. When you see a photograph, your brain believes what it is seeing is real, and I can't tell you how amazing it is to see a photograph of yourself that makes you truly feel strong, confident, powerful, and beautiful.
There are so many ways to use these images we will create. Many clients create an album or a display box of prints to pull out when they need a confidence boost. My clients hang their images in their home or in their bedrooms so that when they pass it they think of everything they have to celebrate. Others keep some for themselves and give others to their family members such as spouses, parents and children. Still others use their digital files for their social media and across a variety of professional platforms for the personal branding. The possibilities are endless.
Then you are in the right place! I would guess that 90% of my clients think this before their shoot, probably because they haven’t been photographed in good lighting with posing that flatters their body. It’s my job to guide you so that you look your best, you have fun and your personality comes out. It’s your job to love and accept yourself. It won’t take you long to relax into our shoot and realize that not only is it not difficult or scary, but that you are actually very photogenic! Many clients have shared with me how positive this experience was for their self-image and how good they felt about themselves and their bodies afterwards.
You are perfect just the way you are. No matter what diet culture tells us, it is so important that we love ourselves no matter what our weight or other “imperfections” we think we have. It’s time to neutralize the negative self-talk and love ourselves. I do want you to feel absolutely gorgeous in your photos and so I will use posing, lighting and clothing suggestions to help you look and feel your best. You will be amazed the difference these elements can make in camera!
The first step is to schedule a phone call with Ann. We'll get to know each other and answer any questions you might have. Then we will schedule your photoshoot. We typically shoot Mondays-Thursdays starting around 10:30am at our Barrington studio.
My goal is to create the most beautiful images you have ever had of yourself. It is a collaborative process, so we will work together ahead of time to create the perfect shoot for you and to discuss both what you love and what you are insecure about. Our pricing is structured so that you only buy what you love and there is no obligation. Of course, we want you love all of your images, so get ready! That said, we want you to be 100% in love with your images and your experience. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your portraits at the viewing session, we will offer a reshoot at no additional cost to you. Our goal is to capture images that you will cherish forever.
Of course! When you see 25-30 stunning images from your shoot chances are you will want more than one. Extra images (including the 8x10 print and digital image) are $300 each. Packages include six images and beautiful folio boxes to store and display your prints and start at $1,500. We do take credit cards and offer payment plans. There is no hard sell to buy more this is about what you love and you won't know what you love until the images are finished!
