Enjoy a fully guided photoshoot with 4–5 outfit changes. Every pose and expression is directed, so even if you’ve always felt “awkward on camera,” you’ll feel comfortable and confident.

Afterward, you’ll see your portraits and select your favorites. Your session includes a fine-art matted print with its matching digital image, and you’ll also be featured in our 40 Over 40 exhibit and magazine.

You’ll receive a prep guide with outfit tips and colors that photograph beautifully. Most women bring 4–5 outfits they love and borrow an item or two from my client closet as well.

What should I wear?

Not at all. Most of the women who join this project start by saying the same thing! That’s why I guide you through every pose and expression so you feel comfortable and confident.

I feel so awkward in front of the camera — will that show?

Plan for about 3–4 hours total, including one hour of professional hair and makeup and up to two hours of guided photography with multiple looks and styling changes. After your session, we’ll schedule a Zoom reveal appointment on another day where you’ll see your portraits and choose your favorites.

How long does the session take?

Your session includes professional hair & makeup, wardrobe styling support, a fully guided photoshoot with 4–5 looks, and a feature in our 40 Over 40 exhibit & magazine. You’ll also receive one fine-art matted print with its matching digital image.

What’s included in the $395 session fee?

Yes! Most women do! You’ll be able to select additional portraits, wall art, or albums at your Zoom reveal.

Can I purchase additional images?

Sessions are held at our home studio in Barrington, serving Chicago and the Northwest suburbs.

Adriana says, "Going through this experience was therapy for me. It was art therapy. And the reason why is because after I looked at my photos I told myself I'm not going to criticize myself. It's funny because it was simple for me to do that, because they were gorgeous and they reflected what I wanted to see in myself. .... I can look at my reflection in a positive light instead of scrutinizing every thing I don't like about my facial features. This was a beautiful gift that was given to me because I can look at myself in a different way and it brought me healing."

From the moment you walk in, you’ll be greeted with warmth (including Rumi, our friendly studio pup!) and guided through a relaxed, pampering experience. Many clients tell us it feels less like a studio and more like visiting a friend’s beautiful home.

why over 40?

As a woman and a photographer in my 40s, I grew frustrated as I realized that as a culture women start to disappear in their 40s. One of the ways we mark and celebrate the most important memories of our lives is through photos, and as a photographer I have had the honor to help families celebrate milestones like engagements, weddings, graduations, and new families.

But after that, women disappear. Often, we are behind the camera taking the photos of our families, or we just don't feel comfortable in front of the camera. If you are a woman who never got married, it's possible you were never celebrated in this way.

I wanted a way to show the women that I knew and loved just how beautiful, strong and inspiring they were at every age. I wanted to celebrate the many journeys we travel in life that are often unmarked, even though they are just as significant if not more than the ones we traditionally celebrate.
