The Best Tip Ever – Manage Your Mealtime

FILED IN: personal

Kamran and I love to cook together.  It’s one of the few things that we can do and get totally absorbed in what we’re doing, and actually stop talking about work for a few minutes. We feel so lucky to be able own a business together, but sometimes our work lives can take over everything.

It can get really overwhelming to plan meals each week, especially when we get really busy.  With the busy summer season upon us, the idea of thinking of something, anything, to cook can totally overwhelm me.  With editing, phone calls, emails, and the ongoing tasks of running a small business, I’ve found myself turning to the freezer more than I would like for quick, easy meals.

The thing is, we lose more than we gain in the process.  We miss out on nourishing our bodies and our relationship for a few extra minutes at the computer.

What I really needed was something to help me plan, because most days it’s just the thought of planning something that prevents me from cooking at all.  If I know what I’m supposed to do and have the supplies ahead of time, it’s not so hard to take an extra 30 minutes to actually cook a meal together.  And we get to hang out and just enjoy being a couple, and it’s amazing.

Enter Emeals.com.  My friend Jessica told me about this website recently, and I think it’s the answer to all my cooking problems!  You sign up for a meal plan, and each week Emeals sends you 7 recipes and a shopping list so that you can get everything you need at the beginning of the week.  And get this – the recipes are easy and tasty!  It’s amazing!  We already made breaded chicken parmesan this week, and I’ve got salmon and other goodies on board.

Sometimes all you need to do the things you love to do, is to make them easy.
