That’s exactly what we aimed to do when I worked with Anita, the founder of Rodina Botanicals, a local skincare brand that embodies simplicity, sustainability, and a passion for clean skincare. I am excited to share this skincare brand photoshoot with you and introduce you to this fabulous business!

Rodina Botanicals is an independent skincare brand focused on using clean, organic ingredients to create products that are effective, simple, and kind to the planet. Anita’s commitment to sustainability, along with their heartfelt mission to create products with local, organic ingredients, made this personal brand photography session a truly meaningful experience. From capturing Anita’s fun, engaging personality to her thoughtfully-crafted products, the day was an absolute blast.

All-Natural Skincare Brand Photoshoot: Capturing Anita’s Passion for Sustainability

For this skincare brand photoshoot, we wanted to highlight more than just Rodina’s products—we wanted to show Anita’s warmth, her genuine care for her customers, and the love she pours into everything she creates. Anita is the heart of Rodina Botanicals, and through the photos, we aimed to capture her personality—her down-to-earth approach, her dedication to quality, and her commitment to simplicity.

Anita’s story is personal—Rodina’s first product, the Post Mosquito Bite Salve, was created out of her own need to find a natural solution for her children’s discomfort. This passion for helping others and using natural remedies shines through everything she does. For me as a photographer, capturing this in the photos was key. It wasn’t just about styling the products; it was about telling the story of a mother and business owner who cares deeply about creating a safer, more sustainable world.

Showcasing Rodina’s Skincare Products: Hand Balm and Cuticle Oil

I have personally become a huge fan of Rodina’s products, including the Orange Blossoms Hand Balm and Wild Meadows Cuticle Oil. Both products embody Rodina Botanicals’ “Less is More” philosophy, and they fit perfectly into the brand’s commitment to clean, natural ingredients.

Rodina’s Hand Balm is a hero product—designed to soothe dry, cracked hands with its blend of calendula-infused oils and locally-sourced beeswax. It creates a protective barrier on the skin without the use of toxic chemicals. I have personally been using the Orange Blossoms Hand Balm, and even my picky family members love the citrus-y scent for our dry, winter-cracked hands.

Then there’s the Wild Meadows Cuticle Oil—a nourishing blend of organic oils and essential vitamins that’s a must-have for anyone with dry, brittle nails or cuticles. I’m not gonna lie – my cuticles are the worst, especially in the winter, but they are finally looking healthy and happy now that I am regularly using Rodina’s cuticle oil. It smells amazing, with ingredients that include extra virgin olive oil, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, and sweet almond oil. Each one has its own skin-healing properties, making this product both luxurious and practical.

For the photoshoot, Anita brought along the herbs she uses as well as the products themselves, and so we were able to highlight the beautiful colors and textures of her natural ingredients as well as her product packaging. We also made sure to include moments that show Anita in her element—whether that was applying the balm herself or thoughtfully considering the ingredients for her next batch.
