Barbados!

FILED IN: personal

Every year, my family takes a vacation together.  We’ve done this as long as I can remember, from car trips to Tennessee to our more recent exotic travels to the Caribbean.  It’s always amazed me how well we get along together – though we’re all pretty easy-going and dedicated swimmers, readers, and drinkers.  Really, the majority of our vacations involve swimming/snorkeling, reading, and drinking.  Studiously.  It’s pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.

This year Mom picked Barbados as our destination, and it was just what we needed.  Kam and I finally got smart and bought goggles before our trip, and on our first day spent at least an hour doing summersaults and handstands in the water like kids.  We swam with turtles, snorkeled around old ship wrecks, body-surfed, explored the island, and drank a lot of rum punch.  (Well, I, at least, made it my mission to sample the island’s variations on Barbadian rum punch wherever we went.)  We drove on the left side of the road, ate a lot of fish, and, you know, had a proposal.  It was an awesome week.

Here are a few of our images.  It’s no secret that I’m a sunset-aholic, so consider yourself forewarned. 🙂

Excellente Anno (& Kam)! Loved the 1st sunset picture you can feel the action of the H20! Did you see the H20 “splashes or drops” in the left corner? You’re still pictures of.
Hunt’s Garden? really captured the aura! I LOVE the cave picture it reminds me of you guys as kids just awesome! You caught the aqua color of the water and love the red umbrella and Palm trees. Love the rugged North Shore. Was that the window in your room? Cool.. Great Sunset at the end also, you feel pulled into it. Now I can keep reliving the week esp. with this Ugg freezing ice and rain in WI! Thank You! Love Mom 🙂

Glad you liked the water droplets – I was trying to decide if I should take them out! The window was in the stairway as you walked down to the beach!

  4. Susan Oleinik says:

Oh yea! Of course I liked the one of Rob and Maggie walking also. And all the rest.
Cheryl just said “you really have an eye for photography” .

So glad you guys loved Barbados! It is an AMAZING place! The photos are spectacular (as always). I loved the north coast – think it was my favorite place. Although the sunsets could not be beat.
