She stood at the back of the chapel, arm in arm with her father, and took a deep breath.  The sun was shining and the broad windows overlooking Green Lake made the Chapel feel like it was floating over the water.  She took a step, a step towards him, on the final leg of this journey towards marriage.  And then, he turned away slightly as his brother pulled out his guitar.  A surprise for her, on this day that was so them, so full of fun and laughter and personal touches.  He sang as she walked towards him, with the sun shining on the lake and their families gathered around.  He sang to her, and soon they were one.

Kamran and I have been so excited for Ellen and Paul’s wedding for almost a year now.  Though they live in Utah, we have eagerly followed their wedding blog and pinterest page, and felt like we knew them even before we ever met in person.  And we knew that this day – at a summer camp in Green Lake, Wisconsin – was going to be so happy, so fun, that we could not wait to get there.
