Marriage amazes me sometimes. When you think about it, it’s kind of incredible that out of nowhere, two completely different families come together through their shared bonds to one couple. In our case, the odds seem even longer given that Kamran and I come from parts of the world that are well, completely different.
And yet, our families are not that different.
We are so thankful for the rare gift of a visit from Kam’s parents and sister, and we are trying to enjoy it as much as absolutely possible. Since we had a wedding in Green Lake, Wisconsin, this weekend, Mom, Dad and Kathy cheerfully climbed into our little red car for a weekend road trip. My parents came up to Green Lake, where Dad taught Kathy how to drive a boat, and we took a couple days to visit Madison, relive our own wedding memories, and eat and drink as a family on my parents’ deck.
I’m grateful to my parents for being so welcoming, and as my mom said, “It’s amazing that people can come from so far and immediately feel like family.”
Yes, it is.
Love love love love love this. Yes.
Love it! And we have a wedding in Madison, and another in Green Lake this weekend too! So we’ll be hitting up many of the same places you two did! Yay! 🙂
I am so haPpY to see You all together 🙂
