I have to be honest with you, Kathryn and Oscar’s wedding was one of the most fun weddings we have ever been to. Kathryn, Oscar and their families are close, emotional, and did not hesitate for a second to experience and enjoy every second of their wedding day. From the sheer joy on Kathryn’s face when she saw Oscar for the first time walking to the aisle with their little baby Leo, to Oscar’s tears of happiness when he saw Kathryn for the first time, there was not a dry eye among the crowd (ourselves included!).
Kathryn and Oscar made the most out of their wedding day, without a doubt. We began at The Abbey Resort where a dear friend of the family gave one of the most personal, engaging and heartfelt ceremonies we have ever witnessed. After a few minutes for photos, we hopped on an old-fashioned steamboat and cruised across Lake Geneva to The Riviera Ballroom where guests greeted the wedding party and family as they disembarked and entered the ceremony. Later, Kathryn serenaded Oscar while accompanying herself on the guitar.
The evening concluded with an “Hora Loca”, a Venezuelan tradition where guests bring out masks and costumes during the reception and go absolutely crazy. As Oscar’s family was traveling in from Venezuela, we were a little concerned that the non-Venezuelan guests wouldn’t get into it. Boy, were we wrong. In all my life, I have never experienced a crazier hour than this Hora Loca! Seriously, it was amazing, and I am going to start advocating this for all weddings from now on!
Kathryn and Oscar, thank you so much for inviting us to capture your wedding day! It was truly an honor, and one we will never forget!
