When Jessica and Yuta told us they wanted to do a pre-wedding session, we were so excited. We’ve been keeping our eyes on this growing trend, popular on the West Coast and in Asia, where couples are electing to do an extended engagement session that often also includes wedding portraits. For wedding photographers, it’s an ideal situation, as we get lots of time to take beautiful photos without the stress of the wedding day. We are able to go to locations that we might not be able to go to on the wedding day, have more time to explore and take creative photos, and take advantage of lighting at the best time day (which we usually cannot on wedding days due to wedding day festivities).
Jessica and Yuta chose the Chicago Botanic Garden for their spring session. Even though the weather was a little chilly, the flowers were beginning to bloom and the day was sunny and beautiful. Jessica and Yuta could not have been more fun to work with. Kind, patient, and in possession of a good sense of humor, they made the day fly by. They even managed to convince three of their friends to come along and assist throughout the session. We cannot be more grateful to everybody, but we can also see how these two can inspire such close friendships. We were so honored to capture this session, and are sooo excited for their wedding in August!
