As we wrap up 2012 and start looking forward to 2013, Kamran and I are so grateful to be able to do what we do.  We are so lucky to meet such amazing people at the best time in their lives, and to do it all in such a fabulous city.  We’ve been looking through some of our weddings, laughing, reminiscing, and just generally feeling inspired.

We thought it might be cool to share some of our favorite spaces and places with you, since we don’t usually focus too much on venues in our actual wedding posts.  We tend to focus on our awesome couples, but ya know, Chicago has some amazing venues that you won’t find anywhere else.  So in the next few weeks we’ll focus on some of our favorite spaces from 2012, starting with Germania Place in Old Town.

Germania Place has two really amazing things going for it – its location and its character.  Located in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago, Germania Place is surrounded by all of the elegance that this neighborhood has to offer.  From historic mansions to its proximity to Lincoln Park, Germania Place is perfectly situated.  As photographers, Lincoln Park offers a fabulous skyline view, greenery, and more for your photos (see below for a couple examples).  Germania Place is also very close to North Avenue beach, with it’s iconic skyline view and the perfect setting for beach shots.  There’s really not much more you could ask for in terms of location.

And then, inside, Germania Place is as elegant and classy as its neighborhood.  With its high windows, gorgeous chandeliers, hardwood floors, and high ceilings, Germania Place is all character.  You really feel like you are the belle of the ball.  Of course, GP’s professional staff makes everything so easy and seamless that you won’t have to worry about anything.
