One of the products that I offer with all of my wedding packages is a metal print.  I offer them mostly because I think they are really great and I suspect that most people have never heard of them.  I love them so much that I had one of my favorite photos from my own wedding printed on one.  (Shoutout to Karl Dettman from Capital Photography in Madison!)

Metal prints are exactly what they sound like – the image is actually printed on a thin but solid piece of aluminum.  This has two really effects on your image.  One, it means that the print is pretty solid.  It can stand up on its own, so you can either stand it on a bookshelf or hang it on the wall without having to go to all the bother of having it matted and framed like you would with a regular print.  Personally, I’m not a huge fan of traditional frames, so I really love alternative printing formats.

What really makes metal prints stand out, though, is their incredible luminosity.  The image is infused onto the surface of the metal itself, so when light hits it, it reflects the light so that the image seems bright and the colors seem incredibly rich.  It creates a stunning effect that just make your images pop.  It’s probably hard to tell from this picture of the metal print, but believe me, it pops!
