A few months ago Kamran and I finally took the honeymoon we had been dreaming about for years. After four years of marriage, we often joked about how often we traveled but somehow never managed to actually travel alone. This spring we jumped on the opportunity to spend two weeks together in Italy, and I can safely say that it was everything we had dreamt it would be. As you can imagine, we spent most of our time exploring with our cameras (when we weren’t eating, of course!), looking for inspiration and soaking everything in.
We started in Florence, and I will never forget seeing the Duomo peeking out from between the narrow streets as we wandered through the town with our bags. We managed to visit Bologna, Sienna, Rome, Sorrento and Venice in our travels, and have a hard time naming our favorite destination. We are so grateful for the friends that we met, and have tried to take back the feeling of wonder and discovery that we felt every day we were there.
Just a quick shout-out: one of our favorite days was spent touring the Tuscan countryside with Paola from http://www.takemeoutintuscany.com/. She took us to visit a few local wineries and Tuscan hill towns, and we will never forget the lunch we had overlooking the Tuscan countryside while sipping amazing local wine. If you are planning your own trip, make some time for a day with Paola, you won’t regret it!
So here we go, a few photos. I could hardly sit myself down to edit a few for the blog, as each image brings back so many memories that I could hardly cut any out. I have managed to narrow down the selection somewhat, and I appreciate your patience with the length of this post!
