Sarah and Dave – Joffrey Tower Wedding

FILED IN: Weddings

A quiet calm hung over her getting ready room, where her parents and her close friend had gathered to help her prepare.  No distractions, no stress, just the thoughtful presence of those most dear.  The event that lay before them seemed distant, even as it inched closer with the placement of every detail.  The ceremony items packed, the rings ready, the dress on, a kiss from her father and a kiss from her mother, the veil, the final touches, and then… it was time.

His room contained all the joviality of a gathering of friends.  Of loving jokes and brooding excitement.  Of smiles and laughter, and memories and excitement.  And then, for he, too, it was time.

Kind, calm, thoughtful.  Steeped in tradition and deeply mindful of that which is most important in life – family, love, and the weaving of the past into the future.  Sarah and Dave’s wedding was so thoughtfully them.  From serene candlelight to the wild exuberance of the hora, their wedding truly brought together their loved ones into a sacred yet profoundly joyful celebration of their marriage.

And I would be remiss were I not to give credit where credit is due.  Sarah wove unique personal touches into her wedding day to make it truly her own.  Her bouquet was a collection of beaded flowers, each contributed by a friend or family member.  She created Dave’s boutonnière, and, believe it or not, they actually made each other’s wedding rings.  Her dress was purchased from The Bridal Garden, which is a New York nonprofit whose proceeds benefit education for New York City children.  The Wit was very generous in allowing us to use their spectacular rooftop for the First Look, and Joffrey Tower was the unique and dramatic space for the event.
